“Child-centredness” is the core value of our curriculum, which is in line with the “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide” issued by the Education Bureau. Our curriculum is developing appropriate and cater for individual learning needs and styles. We strive to nurture a balanced development in the domains of ethics, intellect, physique, social skills and aesthetics respectively.


We adopt thematic approach of which the themes are connected to children’s real-life experiences and interests. We encourage our children to learn by doing and explore through play. Through observation, exploration, and manipulation of things to accumulate knowledge and experience. Through discovering, questioning, and experimenting to enhance the self-initiated learning and unleash their potentials.


Integrated approaches are adopted to meet diverse needs while achieve learning objectives. We use story books to stimulate children’s curiosity and motivation to learn. Coupled with the whole language approach and project-based learning, a series of multifaceted explorative activities and play will follow to expand children’s learning so as to consolidate their knowledge, skills, and attitudes. 


Beyond the classroom learning activities are arranged to enrich children’s exposure and life experience, including parent-child picnics, visits and grocery shopping. Also, community talks such as safety talks are also arranged for parents and children so they will get familiarized with their community and increase the sense of belonging.

Emotion Education
Emotion is an important domain of the whole-person development. We embed emotion education in real-life situations and daily routines; and guide our children to differentiate and accept different emotions, establish a positive self-image, and learn the appropriate ways to express emotions. We understand that transitions are particularly difficult for young children. As such, our staff are very supportive in helping children face new environment and new faces. We understand that every child is unique such that their feelings and needs of the moment are to be addressed individually and instantly. In short, we ensure a safe and loving environment for our children to grow healthily.
Parenting
Our emotion education is not limited to our children, but also include parents. Parents of every newly admitted child will be given a learning kit named “Growing with Self-Esteem - A Parent Education Project” covering the topics of “Developmental Milestones of Young Children”, “Establishing Good Parent-Child Relationship”, “Mastering Effective Parenting Skills”, “Fostering Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence in Your Child”. Our stationing social worker will conduct parent talks and workshops to help parents understand their children’s emotion needs, as well as effective parenting skills and handling parental stresses. He/she will also conduct continuous observation and play therapy for children, as well as parental counselling as needed.
Whole Language Approach
Whole language approach is adopted. Chinese and English stories connecting to their real-life experiences are used as entry points to stimulate children’s interests in exploring the languages and participating in the related activities. Apart from language, elements of early mathematics, nature and life, arts and creativity are also integrated into the curriculum. Through these language-rich activities, we cultivate children’s interests and confidence in mastering the languages through building their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities systematically.
Project-based Learning Approach
Project-based Learning is a child-centred pedagogy, emphasizing interactions among peers. Teachers will provide many exploration and discovery opportunities; and assist the children to observe, explore, question, interview people, collect and share information in various situations and experiments. Throughout the learning process, children’s inquisitive minds, inter-personal communication and social skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills will be developed.
Sensory and Perceptual Motor Activities
Physical development is important and fundamental. We adopt Tung Wah’s “Sensory and Perpetual Motor Curriculum” jointly developed by our educational psychologist, occupational therapists, speech therapists and early education practitioners. The curriculum lists out a series of developmentally appropriate and fun parent-child activities, which encourage children to learn everyday knowledge and life skills using their senses and different body parts. By doing so, their senses are sharpened, and emotions also are stabilized.
Life Skills Training
The Montessori teaching methodology is introduced in our Life Skills curriculum, which includes self-care, caring for others and caring for environment. We provide ample opportunities for children to engage in self-care activities and learn the practical life skills by doing. Enhancing the self-care capabilities can also help develop children’s muscle endurance and coordination, concentration, independence, problem-solving skills, increase self-confidence and sense of responsibility.

S.M.A.R.T. Programme
S.M.A.R.T. Programme is developed by Occupational Therapist, Ms LUI Shan Shan. The programme emphasizes usingmulti-sensory teaching to improve information processing and memory, movement to music to enhance concentration, fun activity and craft to train fine-motor muscles also writing strategies to learn words and make writing effective and enjoyable.
Primary One Bridging Programme
We have designed a series of bridging activities to prepare our K3 students to adapt to the primary school life. The programme includes games aiming at consolidating fundamental learning and self-care abilities while improving visual and listening skills, pre-writing skills and practical life skills. Primary school visits or experiential activities will also be arranged to prepare students for primary school.
Grasshopper Boy Scouts
K2 and K3 students can join our Grasshopper Scout Ring, registered as the 1360th Ring of Hong Kong Island. Scouts learn to be positive and adventurous through various fun team activities. The motto “ A Grasshopper Scout does a good turn every day” cultivates the sense of responsibility and motivation of self-learning.
Diverse Enrichment Activities
Our school provides various fun enrichment activities according to children’s interests, such as English activities, musical instrument activities, arts and crafts so as to broaden their exposure and discover their talents. We recruit native English-speaking teachers offering weekly whole English class. Children develop their interests and confidence in learning English in a natural and relaxing environment through stories, songs, and games.
